Drug peddler arrested in Kulgam: Police | KNO

Srinagar, Sep 04 (KNO): Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from society, J&K Police on Thursday said to have arrested a drug peddler in Kulgam and recovered contraband substance from his possession. A police team from Police Post Mirbazar during patrolling near Sumo Stand Bumthan, arrested a drug peddler identified as Mohd Mubarak, son of Sukar Ali, resident of JJ Colony, Bawana, Delhi. Upon search, 10 grams of heroin-like contraband substance was recovered from his possession. Accordingly, a case under FIR No. 177/2025, under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Qazigund. Investigation into the matter is going on, a police spokesman said in a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO). “We urge the common masses that if you witness drug peddling or any other crime anywhere near you, feel free to contact the nearest police establishment or dial 112. People are requested to cooperate with police in curbing the menace of drugs from the society. We reassure the community members that police will act tough against the criminals as per law,” police said—(KNO)
